Mandy Truman Swartz is Pathfinder’s firm administrator and the strategic brains behind the operation. As if that wasn’t enough, she is also currently in law school at the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was admitted on a merit scholarship into the class of 2024. Mandy was born and raised in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Her career in the workers’ compensation field began at a very young age with a position at the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission. She then worked at the Supreme Court of Virginia before returning to the Workers’ Compensation Commission and later holding a position as a paralegal at a workers’ compensation defense firm in Richmond. This eventually gave way to forming Pathfinder Injury Law with Bryn while the two sat in their hospital room the day their firstborn son arrived in August 2019. Mandy brings years of workers’ compensation experience to her work with Pathfinder, including an invaluable perspective on how insurance companies work from her time in the defense field. She loves helping people in their time of need. She has a strong interest in legal research and writing, and can usually be found with empty coffee cups and law books strewn about her desk, with notes and flags sticking out everywhere.
Mandy was selected as a 2022 Virginia Lawyers Weekly Unsung Legal Hero for her work in helping start Pathfinder. She is a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants and the Richmond Paralegal Association. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Professional Studies summa cum laude in 2021 from the University of Richmond. She is now a proud student at the University of Richmond School of Law, class of 2024. There she is in the top five percent of her class and has earned CALI awards for achieving the highest grades in two of her classes. She is also the President of the Animal Law Society, Vice President of First Generation Law Students, and Networking and Alumni Relations Chair for the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity. In her free time (HA!!!!!), Mandy enjoys traveling, biking, hanging out with the family and the hounds, reading, and listening to music.
